Oliver Zeidler & Johannes Vetter are amongst the predicted Germans to add to the Tokyo 2021 Olympics Gold medals this summer. Check out all of the other predictions below!
Overall Olympics 2021 Germany Medal Tally Expected To Be Lower Than 2016 Rio Games
Unfortunately, where Germany are concerned, it is widely predicted and forecasted that Germany will do poorer than they did at the previous Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games when it comes down to the overall 2021 Tokyo medal leaderboard.
Germany’s Medal Tally In 2016 Olympic Games
Germany managed to achieve a total of 42 medals in the Games in Brazil five years ago, however recent medal predictions have suggested that they will fall short of that total, with suggestions that they could only achieve a number of 34 medals in Tokyo.
It will be quite disappointing for a country that has been able to compete near the top of the winners medal tally leaderboard for many Olympic Games in the past. They have continued to finish amongst the top five countries on a number of occasions, but recent years have seen nations such as China, Australia and Team Great Britain each overtake in recent editions.
Germany Potential Gold Medals
Despite the suggestion that Germany may finish the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games with a low winners medal tally, there are still a number of events in which they have competitors that have been made betting favourites to win disciplines that they are represented in.
In Which Sports Is Germany Most Likely To Win a Medal?
There are a number of different sporting events and disciplines in which they are favoured to take the gold medal back to Germany. These include events within Rowing, Javelin, Canoe, Cycling, Equestrian, Shooting and Swimming.
Germans Oliver Zeidler and Johannes Vetter Are Favourites To Win Tokyo 2021 Olympic Gold Medals
Perhaps one of the best chances that Germany has to add Gold in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games medal tally comes via Oliver Zeidler.
Oliver Zeidler To Win For German Rowing Men’s Singles
The German rower is the favourite to win the Olympic Rowing Men’s Singles Scull event and despite not having competed at an Olympic Games yet, the 24-year-old has shown that he has the potential to take Gold.
Zeidler is the current reigning world champion in the event, having won it at the 2019 World Rowing Championships, which will put him in a great position in Tokyo.
Johannes Vetter To Win For German Athletics In The Javelin Discipline
Johannes Vetter is another Olympian that could add to the Germany winners medal tally at the Tokyo 2021 Games, but he will need to improve on his 2016 performances that saw him finish fourth.
The 28-year-old holds the German record for distance thrown (97.76m) and is currently second on the world’s list of longest throws.
